RECREATING THE ORIGINAL PROPERTIES OF BERKS COUNTY
The original land warrantee maps show information about the first surveys and the property owners of what is now Berks County, PA. A problem for any researcher is determining exactly where these first properties actually were. The original tract boundaries are being recreated and made viewable in Google Maps. THE MURDERESS OF STOUCHSBURG Kate Edwards sentenced to hang for the murder of her husband in Stouchsburg in 1901. Her story became national news and was followed closely for thirteen years. Under the cover of night she was whisked out of the Berks County Prison by authorities, given a new identity, and never heard from again.
